I went for my Breast Biopsy results today, read on... (Cancel Cancer Africa)

Hi Everyone

I went for my results today, confident that the results were going to be negative, as at my last appointment 2 weeks ago, there was nothing new on the mamogram or ultra sound.

The consultant said she was 99.9% sure nothing serious was going on and expected the slides to come back negative, despite me telling her my concerns about the hot iron kind of pain I get and the fact the ultra sound was carried out around my nipple area and not where I said the pain is.

She reassured me, to a certain degree and this morning I turned up expecting to be told its nothing. Shocked and speechless, I was when they told me the cytology was suspicious and that I need a hadfields operation.

My operation is on the 11th December as my mamogram was clear, so not urgent, however I am worried as the ultra sound they did covered just my nipple area, they didn't ultra sound the side of my breast or near my armpit, where I am getting the red hot burning pain and where I feel the breast has changed.

I can't help feeling something may have been missed as the consultant said herself, I have dense breast tissue. What my question is, does anyone know, if there was anything sinister there, would it reflect in the breast discharge and would it be detected in this hatfield operation?

The consultant said today he cant be sure if i have a benign condition like a papaloma? Or invasive breast cancer. The results revealed blood stained discharge and other factors for concern that he didn't go into. I wasn't expecting this, this morning I couldn't think of any questions, now I have loads.

Thank yo....

Is Charity now a business in Africa???

Our Biggest challenge in Africa in our fight against Breast Cancer, is not just educating the people, but getting partners to believe that our fight is for real.

So many organisations have turned NGO’s into a business. Too many stories of fund misappropriations and failed promises. The first reaction you get when you approach a possible sponsor is, “are you really going to do what you have on paper’?

You can’t really blame these Partners, who have a real desire to help, but just cant find the right source to put their funds.  Many NGO’s in Africa, just jump into the areas where there is funding and start setting up programs to benefit from these fundings. SAD, very sad.

There are people dying, there was a woman whom we met at the rural communities last week who was in stage 2 of her Breast cancer and was still selling at the markets in pain. “No source for help and not hope”. What do we do with this woman?

Its frustrating, to see so many women in Africa suffering in silence, while others just corruptly deprive them of their support. I know that this blog may fall on some deaf ears, but we are going to continue to keep pushing and driving these points in Africa.

Charity is not a business but a Sacrifice.

Support Cancel Cancer Africa, we are winning the war against Breast Cancer in Africa.

Women Queuing up for Cancel Cancer Breast Examinations.

Some have food but can not eat!

Have you ever imagined having enough food but can't eat it. or having so much wealth and can't
spend it due to illness?

We make all the plans that we can, only just to wake up one morning and you are told you have Breast Cancer. Especially in Africa. Wao!

Later this year we (Cancel Cancer with Ronnie J) shall be going to Kenya and Uganda. Sad to say, the only Oncology hospital in the East of Africa is in Kenya. So everyone who has cancer must travel to Kenya for treatment.

Think about it. Tanzania, Ethopia, Sudan, Somalia etc all have to travel for miles for treatment. While some West, North and South African countries have numerous centres and still loose many lives to Breast Cancer.

Well a change is coming. A wind is blowing and Ronnie J is determined to blow it. Enough is Enough. Join us help these people, support us move from country to country reaching these lives. Your contributions to Cancel Cancel in Africa is key for us.
